Hi,

I just created a report based off of a query in Access. The report has a textbox in which I modified the Control Source to calculate a Sum. Sum([myCount]). The problem is I saved the report as a Data Access Page and that calculated text box is not showing up. How can I make this appear on the data access page also?

I just created a report with a textbox control with controlsource of =sum([first]) in the report footer. I used the File-Export dialog box to save it as a static HTML file. Opened it in Internet Explorer and everything looked fine.
Reports can only be saved as static HTML files.
Did you use this procedure or something else? What version are you using. I'm using Access 2000.
Also, where did you put your sum - detail, page footer, report footer?

Hi,

I am using Access 2003. I saved the file as a DAP (Data Access Page). Because I need the users to see the latest data every time they open this file. I don't think a static HTML page would do that for me.

Yes, I did put my sum in the report footer so i can see it working when I am inside Access, but not when viewing the DAP.

What were the steps to save it as a DAP? To do what you want, you'll have to create a real DAP.
I'll be on Access 2003 tonight to check. Are you also using any of the domain functions in your report such as Dlookup, Dsum, etc.? Because they won't work in a DAP - they're for Access use only.

A real DAP?? What does that mean? No I'm not using any of those functions. This is the query I use to build this report:

SELECT [Assign To] AS [User], Count([Issue ID]) AS myCount
FROM BarcelonaInternalActions
WHERE DateValue(BarcelonaInternalActions.[Commit Date])<Date() And Status<>'Closed'
GROUP BY [Assign To];

---
to save as a dap, I click on the report under 'Reports', Save As, then when the dialog box pops up I choose 'Data Acess Page' from the drop down menu. The name automatically goes to 'Copy of Filename', I change this to be just 'Filename' so that the DAP could be named the exact name of the Report.

And that's it...
