I have a report of portfolios, and the accounts under that portfolio. Each account has an account type code, which is a number representing the type of account. Some numbers represent loans, and other numbers represent deposit account. (i.e. 1, 2, and 3 are deposits; 4, 5, and 6 and loans). How can I calculate a total for each portfolio for just the loan acct types and another total for just the deposit portfolios.
It sounded easy enough when I said "Sure, I can do that." But I'm having trouble getting Cognos Impromput Series 7 to total just for specified numbers under a portfolio. Thanks in advance.

Try creating an account types field manually first of all i.e.

if accounttype in ('1','2','3') then("Loan")else("Deposit")
you can then use this field to group your report and calculate your totals

hope this helps Gary Parker
