I am trying to construct a report with several levels of detail.

I have a calculated text box in the first (lowest) level of group headers which I then want to sum at the next highest level.

I have tried using sum() which can't locate the textbox. I then tried making a hidden textbox in the lowest group header level ( by using val(orignal textbox) ) using the running sum property set to "over Group" when I try to get this value in the next higher level it gives me the first of the lower level values and not the final sum.

Something like this:

Group Header 0

Sum = 2.26% { set to Val (hidden running sum) }

Group Header 1 (first item)

Total = 100 Value = 2.26 Percent = 2.26% (calc) running sum (hidden) = 2.26

Group Header 1 (second item)

Total = 200 Value = 10 Percent = 5% (calc) running sum (hidden) = 7.26

Any ideas.

Hi,
You may want to use the DSum function to retrieve your totals. See my FAQ on this topic: [faq703-3066]

I would create a series of totals that calculate the values you want. Then add the new query to your report's record source.
