Hello all,

I have SMS 2003 installed on one server in my domain that is managing clients. For various reasons it has never fully worked in the configuration I have setup. I am installing a new server and would like to put SMS on its own on this server. I want a fresh start though and would like to totally remove SMS before installing this new server.

What is the procedure for this? I know I can run removal from the SMS setup CD, but do I have to uninstall all the clients first?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Shouldn't make a difference, just do it through Add/Remove Programs.

Shut down the SMSExec.exe Service
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Systems Management Advanced client > Uninstall
SMS CD/DVD > Run > Uninstall.

Use CCMClean.exe to remove any salty Microsoft SMS deposits. This can be found in the Microsoft SMS 2003 toolkit 2 (I think).
