Hi All
I have been assigned to generate some metrics for a backup team and would like to calculate the total size of the data that was backed up at night. I know how many tapes were used but what is the actual size backed up using Netbackup? Is there a command that I can run to get this information? Any pointers please? Appreciate your help. Thanks

if you are running a master server on Unix, then go to my web site at and look for the ebs_stats script.

If you are running on Windows, then you can copy all of the night's activity into an Excel spreadsheet and calculate the data you need.

If you have Advanced Reporter, you should be able to gather the information from it.

hi,

Do u know what are the slots used for taking the backup.
If u the slots ,the volume pool used and if the master server is unix use the following procedure:

Go to /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies
execute ./available_media script before the backup is started .

Note down the total amount of data present in each of the tapes.
Start the backup.
After the backup is over ,again run the same script
and see the difference.

This will the total data backed up .
