Hi there, im looking at getting into Java because im going away to uni next year and it seems a language that they all seem to user. Where do i start? What software do i need? I am an experiance VB and VB.net programmer and run my own software business. So have some idea about program. Hope someone can help me out.

There a several "newbie" questions in the forum. Just do a "Keyword Search" on "newbie".

Start with downloading one of the latest jdks from Sun and start with notepad as your editor. Later you can switch to an IDE (JBuilder, Eclipse, ...)
