Hi all,
I’m new on the forum so this may not be the place for my question. If not and someone can direct me to the proper place or even an alternate site, I would appreciate it. I need to give a job shop the total amount of inches of cut so he can quote a price for a water jet job. It is a metal sign with several 10 and 6 inch high letters along with a design on each end. I drew the design full scale in Adobe Illustrator so I have that file and can also export to several other formats including PDF. I’m thinking there is a program out there that will do this if in fact it cannot be done in AI.
Thanks,
George

I haven't tried these filters yet but they might be just what you need:

Pathlength Filter
Computes the length (perimeter) of Illustrator paths.
Patharea Filter
Computes the area and length of Illustrator paths.

They are free, btw.
