Total for 2 fields

I am having trouble getting this one. There are 2 groups.

Group 1 and 2 there must also be a count of group 2 and then a total for group 1. I am just not getting it to work.

Example

State NY

Albany
Albany

total Albany 2

Kingston
Kingston

total Kingston 2

Total State NY 4

Right click on your city field (placed in the detail section) and insert a summary->count once at the group #1 level and once at the Group #2 level.

Right click on your state field in the detail sections and select insert summary, make it a count summary for thr state group.
