Total Bandwidth

Hi Guys,

Is it correct that the total amount of bandwidth for an ISDN BRI is 192kbps?

I always thought it was 2b+d=144, but have found info stating that itu-t has another 48k for sync+framing..

Is this correct?

144k I think ... 2 x 64K (B) + 1 x 16K (D). ************************

Sorry Chris but total bandwidth for BRI is 192Kbps with 48Kbps for framing and sync. This is sometimes a question on CCNA test.
For PRI North America there is 8Kbps framing and European E1 framing is 64kbps.

The total is 192kbps. There is a D-echo channel which accomodates multiple devices on the bus behind the NT1. If a device speaks while another is talking, the echo channel will be corrupt and they will know a collision occurred. See
