Toshiba Strata? 2

Which forum can I enter for help with an NEC Strata 6x16. The prots kepe burning out on this unit. Don;t know if the set is causing this or a short. There was a cable cut under the carpet at one time. Could use some help before I use up all the spare ports.

the 6 16 nec is not a strata, the strata is a toshiba logo. either way i've played with both.. the old 6/16 nec had .5 amp fuses if i remember right, 4 per card and they blew if a shadow crossed them.. the toshiba almost never lost a port, they did make a 6 by 16 at one time.. either way be sure to connect a set at the frame.. and i would meter the pair with the set unplugged before i swapped ports and killed another.. that pair needs to read open and zero volts between each side and ground

Yes, I am sorry it is a Toshiba. It seems like aftr I let port 10 "rest" for a day it came back to life.

Turned out that a cable pair under tha carpet was bing stepped on and must have given way so I switched pairs and 10 came back on line.

toshiba is like that, the port will disable, it didn't have fuses
