Toshiba Laptop

Hi

Not too sure if this is the correct forum for this but I have a toshiba laptop, 4080 satellite, it won't power up the mains light just flashes amber, anyone got any ideas ?

My guess would be that the battery is dead, it probably has gone bad and needs replaced.
