Hi, I cut a partion on a Toshiba laptop Core 2 Duo Hard Disk using Paragon 2008 (I tried to do with Acronis, but it could not even access the hard disk). When I tried to create the partition on the new unformatted partion using Paragon, it could not do it. I think the problem is that the hard disk has a small partion at the begining of the disk that is meant for protection. If someone can tell me if that is right or there is naothe issue.
Also I would like to know if there is a utility program that can handle any hard disk.

Thanks inadvance

The fact that the drive may have a Recovery or some other kind of partition on the disk, should be irrelevant. I am not familiar with Paragon software, but the fact that you've reduced the size of the main partition, ought to mean that there is now free space available. Can you not see this free space using Disk Management in your OS?

As to why Acronis couldn't see the disk, what version are you using?

Hi, I can see the free space partion. I used Acronis directory 10.

Ok, so if you see free space in Disk Management, can you not create a new partition and format it? Is there an error message perhaps?

Using Acronis True Image v11 here, but I'd have thought v10 would see the drive and free space ok. Operating system?
