Dear members

A friend of mine has a toshiba 1415-s173
I want to upgrade the hardisk and possibly the ram. I have been looking for the suitable components but I am not sure about how to fit them without causing any damage. Does anybody know of any specific how to guides?
I have tried " so far

Thank you in advance:)

If it is "user servicable", there will be a small door (usually on the bottom), to be removed for access to the memory slots. A larger door usually on bottom also, gives access to the hard drive. For memory type, go to Crucial.com and put in your computer model. They will list the type and size of memory your system accepts (you don't have to buy it there, although they are very good). As for hard drive, they are fairly universal. What size do you have now? The BIOS "break" points are usually 8meg - 32meg - 128meg. On my SOLO, I took out the 4meg, and put in a 30meg, with no problems. How old is this laptop? I just found an old Toshiba 2130cs, where you lift two tabs on the front, and slide the "palm rest" forward for access to the hard drive.
