Getting a Torn Page IO error on a table. Get error when opening up table in EM (SQL 2000).Tried DBCC Checktable REPAIR REBUILD on the table - killed it after hours. No response.... Any thoughts?

The only other way to correct a torn page error is to restore the database from a backup. That is also what MS recommends to do. You could have data loss with DBCC. If that is ok then re-run it off hours.

Depending on the size of the table, and the number of users who are working with the table DBCC can take a VERY long time.

DBCC should either be run after hours or the app shut down and it run now. (Now would be better so that the corruption doesn't get any worse).

Then restore the backup to another machine, and find the missing or hosed rows and restore the rows.
