Hi guys,

I might be having a blonde moment here but my mind is a blank and BOL is not overly helpful.

SQL 2000. All out DB's have the torn page detection option set. If a torn page does occur and the detection option for a DB is set to on, what notification is given, or does it just write to the error log? I know doing a DBCC CHECKDB with PHYSICAL_ONLY will write it out, but that means I would have over 150 reports to scan on a daily basis. If a torn page occurs in the middle of the day, what would be the best way to get notification to myself and my fellow DBA's ASAP?

TIA,

M.

Sorry Denis,

one other thing - if I set up the alert and TPD is on, how often is the polling interval, or is it proactive as in as soon as it occurs it will fire off?

Thanks,

M.
