I am trying to access a Topspeed (*.tps) database using the TopSpeed drivers and Crystal Reports v8.5 Development. The following error occurs: "Expected lexical element not found: <identifier>" . This error only occurs on some, not all data files.

I have applied the "join syntax" registry patch on my Win2000 machine as outlined on the BO support web site, but am still receiving the error.

Any help on the error or the registry patch will be appreciated.

Post the SQL statement being executed. Are you using TS-ODBC v3.1 or v4?

The ODBC driver is v4.0.

I never got to writing a SQL statement. In Crystal, I simply placed a field in the report detail section and pressed "preview."
