Hi folks,
I'm not sure whether to place this question in the "Data Access" or the "Formulas" forum. Therefore it is here in the overall forum.
I'm looking and stumbling with an attempt to create a chart with only a part of my datasets.
Actually I show only the top5 datasets within one group. Therefore I've created an parameter field and a total-running field. Then I suppress all datasets with the total-running field larger than 5. That's easy so far. But now I want to have a chart in the group feet which shows the utilization of these 5 routers during the day. But the problem is, that I cannot restrict it to the top5 but I see all routers.
Does anybody know a solution or has a hint how to make it possible to show only these top5 talkers within a chart which I already have in the details section of my report.

If anybody has an idea ... thanks a lot in advance !!!

Jens

Try to group your data in two levels and use the TopN
option (under the Report menu) instead of the conditional suppress approach to show only the top 5 sub-groups within Group level 1.

This would automatically cause a Chart based on these same sub-groups to display only the TopN subgroups.

Alternatively, base your Chart on a CrossTab (Charts have an option to use a CrossTab as their data source). CrossTabs can have their own control over TopN behavior
(independent of the rest of the report).

Cheers,
