Hi

Anyone offer any advice on how to make a Cross-Tab report that displays the TopN records? The data I am using returns too many records to display on 1 page, and the TopN option is greyed out (Crystal V7.2 only).

Any help appreciated..

To use the report TopN feature you have to have a group in your report (even if you don't see it). Create the same group as used in the Cross-tab and the subtotal you want to use for TopN. Then do a TopN on the report. This may or may not reduce the number of records included in the cross-tab.

In later versions you can also click in the upper left (empty) cell of the cross-tab and then open the TopN function. It will now apply TopN to the rows of the cross-tab using the Cross-tabs own subtotals. This may only be available with v8+ of CR. I have never heard of CRv7.2 - are you using INFO?
