Hello ...

I have a customer who wants to install new IPOCC, he has different physical numbers and wants to collects it in new PRI line, the line no. is ( 5004040, 5519090, 5523215, etc ... ). (8 different numbers in total)
in this case how I can build a shortcode for IPOCC and point it to topic ?]

Thanks

Have you done any kind of training on IPOCC?

Hello Janni78...

Yes, of course. and read Tasked Based Guides.
what's the problem of my request ?
if the PRI number just for example 5004040 to 5004069 (30 channels), the IP Office Short Code for Chap Server is as folw

The Code=40XX
Feature=DialExtn
Number=350|>> (SIP Ext, chosen(

whats the problem if I asket how to set shortcode if I have different number range (which means two 2 X’s at the end of the code number not identical here because of the different numbers)

Thanks

If you made the IPOCC short code 40XX it means the Topics short code range is from 4001 (topic 1 if you are in R9.1) to 4099.
If 5004040 has to be directed to topic 1 and so on in the Incoming Call Route you will do:
5004040 --> 4001
5004041 --> 4002
5004042 --> 4003
...
...
5004050 -- 4011

etc

Hi IamaSherpa ...

yes I know how to do this, but my questions is if I have different number range in PRI as I mentioned above (5004040, 5519090, 55023215, 5503224, etc ... )
and I will use VMPro to route calls to IPOCC.

Thanks

I don't think routing IPOCC calls made by VMPro is a best practice, firstly because the reporting could be not correct, then because is the IPOCC should act as ACD engine.

Anyway I can't see the problem, every single number could be routed to a topic short code, doesn't matter which line comes from, I mean:

5004040 --> 4001
5004041 --> 4002
...
5519090 --> 4005
5523215 --> 4006

Hello IamaSherpa ...

but this will conflict with the short code build

IPOCC short code 40XX it means the Topics short code range is from 4001 to 4099.
The two 2 X’s at the end of the code number not identical here 90XX, 32XX.

on the other hand, what's do you mean that's you don't think routing IPOCC calls made by VMPro is a best practice, you suggest to build new IVR menu and routes calls directly via ICR to topic ?

Thanks

The trunk numbering plan is not depending on the shorts, don't underevaluate IPO.

If it's true that calls coming from 5004040 can be directed to any extension, even if not matching with the last digits (and IT's true) every trunk number can be forwarded to any short, no problem.

Then, if the needing is call a topic send it directly to the IPOCC and manage the ivr within it.

Hi IamaSherpa ...

Can you explain me more in details Please ? because when I reed Tasked based Guide, found that is a relation between DDI numbers and topics related to it. and this must match the short code and post dial ?
if the ends of the PRI is 7000, shortcode: 70xx, topic starts 7001 -- 7099, in ICR destination should match 7001,

Thanks

Hi IamaSherpa ...

As I understad from you, if the IPO Shortcode is:

The Code=40XX
Feature=DialExtn
Number=350|>>

Topic Start from 4001, to 4099

There is not relation if I have no. 5004040
So, in the IPO ICR, Incoming number: 5004040, Destination: 4001
Incoming number: 5009090, Destination: 4002
Incoming number: 5503224, Destination: 4003
.
.
.

Here is example from doc:

With short codes configured in IPO, number (ranges) should be routed to the SIP Extensions controlled by Chap process
Example:
Code=50XX
Feature=DialExtn
Number=350|>>. Note the full stop (period) as part of the number

This will route to 350 and put (e.g.) 5001 through 5099 in the “To” field of the SIP message as calls come in.
If 0711135865001 is dialed, this call will to Topic number 5001

Thansk

Let's consider a Topic like a start point in VMPro and the Topic number like the VMpro start name, you can connect any Trunk Number to any VMPro module name, in the same way you can connect any number to any short, not depending on the match

Hi IamaSherpa ...

Thank you, because it is in illustrative examples in tasked based guide and avaya learning there is a link between the last four digit of the dialed numbers and the topic.
again please can you describe me why you don't suggest point the short code via VMPro ? because the message I have have 3 options :
1 - customer service
2 - Maangemt
3 - Sales

only the option 1 is for call center agents, the other is users.
In this way is the pointing of transfer within option 1 to the direct shortcode is best options

Thanks

You choice, if this is what the customer need, lets consider you put an additional element between the IPO and IPOCC, it could introduce a weakness element, potentially, all depends on the importance of Call Center business.
Then, reporting will keep trace from Topic entrance not frrom the call has been initiated
