topas -C = P5 cross-partition view 1

topas -C shows 2 lines for each lpar (12 Lpar's implemented ==> shows 24, installed memory 32GB ==> shows 60GB monitored) , processors shared 14 (8 total and all in shared pool) ???

AIX 5.3 oslevel 5300-04-00 on all LPAR's

no each lpar is a stand alone AIX image

I'm not sure but is it because of SMT is enabled on those partitions?

I will check on my system and I will come back to you ASAP

on no it is not because of the SMT.

I've just disabled the SMT and it still giving me two lines per partition!!!

2 lpars (8+9) have native 2 GB Eth and 2 FC , the others are virtualized

In my system it is showing 2 lines for those with 2 Eth adapter which are running a cluster!

but i set the Allow shared processing pool utilization authority option and i'm still having this same output!!!

this option is only for the "app" column in lparstat.
You must be at AIX ML03 minimum and you must restart the lpar in the moment (in the future with a firmware upgrade it must be possible without (they say)

It is not for the double line problem in topas ;-)

But in topas -C (cross partition view ) the APP is showed without setting this option in the Lpar properties

while searching another problem I found the following :

installed SP3 5300-04-03 (cumulative ptfs from SP1 + SP2) : ==> and as you can see only one line per LPAR
