Hi All,
I have developed a Crystal Report xi rel 2, I have one group in the report. The is
based on id.

On the details section the is a field payment which summed up per id.

Then in group record selection I have restricted all values less than or
equal to £249.99.

Now I only want to see the top 10 of the summed payment field where less than £250.
So when I go into group sort expert and try selecting here and bringing back only
the top 10, the reports still brings back all the records. I abit confused why this
is not working.

The values present after appling the <=249.99 in the group selection range from a
minus figures to zero and than all the way upto £248. Dont know if this makes a
difference.

Please can you help....

I hope I have not missed any information.

Many Thanks

Does it show all the groups, or just show the top 10 groups with a grand total that is all inclusive?

When I select top 10 from group sort it brings back nothing and when I select bottom 10 it brings back the correct results. Iam basing my top 10 and bottom 10 on the sum of payment per group id. I dont quite understand.

Many Thanks

Are you sorting descending or ascending? Is it possibile you have null values in the field you are trying to Sum and perform topN on?

Under file, options, reporting tab, make sure "convert database null values to default" and "convert other null values to default" is clicked.

The issue is that the topN group sort occurs before the group selection, so a top10 is picking up groups that are not displayed because of group selection.

I am unclear on what you want to show. Do you mean you would expect to see the top10 with 249.99 being the highest possible value?
