ToolTipText multiline capability and maximum length?

Can the ToolTipText control string be multilined and is there a maximum length it can hold?

Multiline, I don't believe you can. I ran a test app and couldn't get it to work. I also had a tooltip with 565 characters and it was fine. Screen size however, limited what I was able to see.

You can test it out yourself in a project.

One thing to consider is the function of the tool tip. It is after all ment to be a quick tip. A few words to remind the user of something. As a user I would expect a tool tip to be quick and to the point. Anything else might be better off in a help file of some kind.
