Toolset Evaluation

Hi everyone (I am a newbie!!!)

I am working for a company that is currently setting up a DW to SAP and one of the products that I have been asked to review is Hyperions Essbase.

I was wondering if anyone had had any contact with this product and if there were any comments that may be useful.

Also issues regarding the DW, Oracle or Sql ? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

[Hurdles]

I work for a DW company, our main expertise is Essbase. It is a good tool, the most recent version is 6.0. It is really easy and you can make very complex dw cube. You build your outline (what they called the hierarchial structure of the cube). You can use a flat file to update it or you can use MS Excel and update the cells. Any specific Qs?

I have not used it with SAP.
Nor have I used Oracle.

Essbase does allow a drill thru to a relation db
