Hi,

I use the event log and Compaq Insight Manager to track my servers. Are there other tools that I can use? Where can you find info on the event log IDs?

You can lookup the event log IDs on the TechNet CDs or at

http://www.microsoft.com\technet

in the Knowledgebase section.

As far as managing your servers, there are as many different tools out there as there are different server platforms. A couple come to mind:

CA-Unicenter - high end
ManageIT - lower end, also from Computer Associates
Tivoli
HP OpenView
Microsoft SMS
etc.,etc.,etc.

If you are a Compaq shop, Insight Manager is an awesome tool...
