How do I convert a 16 bit to 32 bit field and vice versa. Is it base 2 numbers? Also finding a point in a volume, can PL/SQL perform something like that.

Greg,

I believe we can be more helpful to you if you place your request into the context of your need.

Are you talking about migrating a 32-bit Oracle installation to a 64-bit Oracle installation?

>>> Is it base 2 numbers?

Not sure your question here.

>>> Also finding a point in a volume, can PL/SQL perform something like that.

Ditto.

Please give us examples of what your questions mean.

Santa,
We have a control volume in our program which is a mathematical space in the air that certain combat oriented are allowed. This transaction happens at a certain point in this volume. The volume is basically a cube. The math is basic geometry I think that would return X,Y,Z coordinates.

The other question has to wait because the original person who asked it is out of town this week and next. thanks.
