Tools-Internet Options - is Restricted?? 1

Hello people

Whhen I try to select "Internet Options" off of tje "Tools" menu i get a Restricted window like the followinf:

This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. {lease contact your system administrator.

Any Idea how this is happening?

Often people have this issue due to a setting in a spyware removal program (Spybot S&D which sets a registry setting to prevent malware from changing things. If you use Spybot then go to the Immunize section and uncheck the box "Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE (current user)".

Otherwise, review the information from this Winguides link, specifically the NoBrowserOptions setting -

Ok thanks fellas for the Tip.

I downloaded WinGuides Tweak Manager

Under software it had the Restrictions checked meaning it was disabeled. I easily unchecked it by clicking on the checkmark but actually left it disabled, since I now know how to enable it

And yes i did run a spybot finder software wich probably was the cause.

Do you have an opinion as to weather I should leave it disabeled?

Now that you know how to enable/disable, leave it disabled until you need to make a change.
