Toolbars/Palettes on Startup

We are using Adobe Illustrator, on opening the program it does not keep the settings when the user has moved the palettes to there liking. I have tried saving the startup file but this still doesn't save the positioning of the Palette boxes.

Any Ideas?

If your on a mac, move yor preferences file to the trash, start up Illustrator, move your pallettes to a good position, close illustrator and restart the comp.

Not sure about the PC preferences file so just try the same thing. Sounds buggy so you may need to reinstall.
