I installed Office 2000 on a machine. All applications look fine except for Word. The toolbar will not show up anywhere. What would make this happen and does anyone know how to fix it?
In 2000, Microsoft combined the standard and formatting toolbars into one toolbar, so it may appear that one toolbar is missing, but it is not. At the end of the toolbars there is a "More Buttons" button, which when dropped down shows the rest of the toolbar buttons. To set up the toolbars the way you are used to seeing them (both on their own row) go to Tools, Customize, and on the Options tab, deselect the option that says "Standard and Formatting toolbars share one row." This is application specific, I believe, so you will also have to do this in Excel if you want to see the two toolbars on their own row.
