Tool for sending alerts

Hi,

I am looking for a tool which could send an email alert to a mailbox based on an error found in the event log. Can anyone recomend one, or does windows 2003 server have its own one?

the easy way is to write a script that will be searching the eventlog x times a day for the specific event and if it finds it, the e-mail will be sent

let me know if you are interested in such solution so i could give you some sample code
