I keep loosing my getting started tool bar, I have master rights, and I have deleted my user ini file but still keeps dissapearing, it happens on any PC I log onto under my Goldmine username and it happens at any time and at any point during my log on

Can any one help

what version of GoldMine and what operating system? Older versions of GoldMine had this problem under XP.. The solution was to specify that GoldMine use the windows 2000 compatibility mode.. Of course, for a networked app, that is not possible, so you'd end up with a mess of local installs and so on. The best solution is just update to 6.7 and be done with it.

Well, sort of making a mess of your GoldMine installation in order to get a locally-installed GoldMine executable for which you can specify win 2k compatibility mode, you might simply consider disabling visual themes and running in 2000-style in all of XP. You'll get better performance, over-all, and it shoudl help this toolbar issue in GoldMine..

Hi Goner, I will try the local installation method,

The intwizard, I have set the user with master rights and it still fails to resolve the issue

Thanks

Tim

No, not the User with master's rights

The Windows group called 'Users' with Write rights to the goldmine root directory

If you can't update existing files, then GoldMine can't write your changes to the users.ini

by the way, on the local install thing, be sure to perform the local installation via logging into the network GoldMine and going to File|Configure|License manager and then to the install locally tab.

Don't let the terminology fool you into doing something horrible like installing a whole GoldMine on your machine using the CD or something...
