Hi,

The crystal reports on our system is viewed through web application. The application simply exports the reports to certain directory, then the reports are grabbed from there and displayed on the web in different formats. If you view the report in PDF format, it has tool bars with Save, Copy, etc, etc. But if you view the reports in other formats like word, excel, text, it doesn't have those tool bars.

How do I add those tool bars on the report viewer screen?

Thanks.

I presume that you mean that the Browser is used to display these reports, and that within the browser, the toolbars aren't automatically showing.

Users can show them using View->Toolbars->Standard

Yeah, but I don't have menu options to select View when the reports pop up on the browser....

Are you using IE?

It shows up here.

Take your IE browser and open a WOrd document on your machine, now select View->Toolbars and turn on the standard (or whatever).

I can remember configuring this years ago to default to having them open (not using CR), but I can't recall how now.

I use IE but the application we use which I believe we don't have any control over doesn't come up with File options....acutally no menu options but the report itself in word format. I think there is a way to set up to have those tool bars to show up through Word, Excel, and maybe in Text (maybe not.) Please, think hard how to set that up and let me know... ^_^

Thanks.

Which version of Crystal report are you using? My web report need to export to pdf format too, but never have toolbar displayed inside pdf file and also I don't think Crystal Report provide you specified options to control this unless it is based on different viewers.

We use V8.5 but I don't think it has anything to do with Crystal. I think it's controlled somehow through other applications like word, pdf, excel...

There is no code that says to include the tool bars. It does it automatically based on some set up within..I think.

Should've never had the tool bars displayed in PDF. Now they want it in all other format...ha.

Sorry, is toolbar mean toolbar in crystal report viewer or anything else? If you mean the one in crystal report viewer, then I don't think there is a way, at least I never saw the code like this. Setup..? maybe, but unless you use Crystal Enterprise 8.5, I don't know how you can configure it? in page server or some other servers?

Ted

The rumour is you can do set it up to see tool bars in Word or Excel if your report comes in those formats. Just don't know how...
