Too Restrictive Toolbars and user defined switchboards

Once upon a time I tried to use a custom toolbar to enforce some extra security in a database. You know what I mean that there is some places you just don't WANT users to be going to. In my nervous outbreak I took out some options in the start menu as well and ended up locking myself out off all options...Before you laugh too much, I had a back-up copy.

My question is this: Is there a way to "by-pass" these startup settings or even better is there a way to customize the way different users' toolbars will look?

Any suggestions for custom switchboards for different users/ usergroups? Even if you design a "custom switchboard" with a standard form with buttons how will you customize every user's startup settings. It is one shared database in a network environment?

hold down left shift button as you open the database will bypass all startup options.

as for custom toolbars for different groups/users i have in the past produced multiple toolbars and simply checked user group membership on the way into the database to determine which ones to display for the current user.

Thanks JGillespie! That is a quick solution. I think(hope) that the average user wouldn't figure that out, maybe I'm a bit too paranoid...
