My problem is that I need to open many Word documents at the same time. The problem is that each document opens up a icon on my Start toolbar. Back in the earlier versions of Word I remember that there was only one icon the Start bar, and you could change between the documents from inside Word. Can I return to this? I am using Word 2000. Thanks.

Once you get used to this, you may find you like it better. Instead of going to Window on the main menu and clicking on the open document you want to be in front (as you did in '97), you simply click the buttons on the task bar to maneuver between documents. You may also notice there is no minimize button now for an individual Word document. When you have a document open, and then open another one, Word displays the icon for the first document in the task bar.
