too many windows

Please, could someone tell me if there is a way to keep Internet Explorer from opening up a new window every time I clock on a link? Not only do a I get new windows, but they are undersized and have to be moved before I can see them in their entirety as well.

Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, check 'Reuse windows for launching shortcuts'.
