I am trying to open a photoshop file in windows and am getting an error "too many layers...", i am using 5.5 - is there a way to remedy this?

I have read somewhere (adobe site i think) that 5.5 is limited to 100 layers. This may be the cause of your problem. Did you create this file or are you trying to open something someone else did?

In Photoshop 5.5 maximum number of layers is only 99 after 99 layers it does not allow you to add layer.

But in Photoshop6.0 Maximum Number of Layer is 5500.

For opening that file you go to adobe image Ready 2.0 and open that file your file will open you delete the unnecessary layers and save that file .and close that file in image ready.Go to adobe photoshop 5.5 and open your file.

This will Help
