too many logons 1

Many of our workstations running Win98 present a "windows logon" after the network logon.  None of these machines has more than one user...and are all set to present the same profile to all users.  We always cancel this second window and never provide a password, so this window is nonfunctional, but we sure would like to get rid of it.  Does anyone know how to curtail this behavior?

It's not a problem of users...as I said initially, each computer has never had more than one user, therefore there are no user profiles dependent on the windows login.<br><br>Have tried TweakUI.

I hated that Windows logon screen also....goto control panel and then to passwords.&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the user profiles tab.&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the circle that says &quot;All users of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings&quot;.&nbsp;&nbsp;That's how I got rid of it.<br><br>Osyris<br><A HREF="mailto:Osyris32@hotmail.com">Osyris32@hotmail.com</A>

Go to DOS...cd to c:\windows, delete the *.pwl files...reboot the system and when the windows logon screen appears (probably to change their password) click ok, making sure nothing is entered in any of the boxes....my experience on our novell network is the windows logon will have asterisks in one of the boxes, just delete them.&nbsp;&nbsp;Something else to do would be going into the control panel, and make sure the passwords are not set to syncronize with the network password....this feature is under the passwords option i believe (I'm writing from home, not work where i can confirm for sure, sorry)...hope this helps...
