Too many fax extensions, all 10.

I've been trying to figure out why the message light on extension 10 comes on all the time. Turns out that 10 is notified when a fax arrives, and when I use SysPrgm to find out what extensions are designated as faxes, ext 10 is. 6 different times! I tried deleting ext 10 from the list of faxes, but could only delete one instance.

I've tried restarting the system, and even erasing the programming and restoring from backup. Perhaps the bug is stored in the backup.

Any ideas for how to clear this?

What type of voice mail is being used? Where are you going in SPM to see if it is a fax extension? To me, this sounds like a problem in the voice mail.

No voice mail installed. (Just an answering machine hanging off an analog extension.) SPM reports the same thing as the system console.

10 cannot be administered as a FAX machine itself, as it is not a single line port. But it is the FAX message waiting receiver for your single line ports that are administered as FAX extensions. If one of them goes off hook to answer a call for 10 to 30 seconds, it will light up the message waiting receiver.

IF you go to AuxEquip -> FAX -> Extension -> Inspect, you should be able to see who the FAX extensions are.

Then go to AuxEquip -> FAX -> [ext. no.] -> Enter -> Back -> MsgWaiting -> [ext. no.] -> Enter -> 10 -> Delete, you should be able to get rid of 10 as the receiver

Hi, I have the same problem. CKE4 Procesor was R6V11 ( no problem with MSG light ), I now have Magix R2.1V8. I used WinSPM V7 for the file conversion.
Everything is OK, except MSG light on ext 19. Ext 329 is FAX, MSG Waiting was ext 19. Sice the conversion I get ext 19 ( 8 times! ) as FAX, with MSG waiting 329. I cannot delete ext 19 ( any of them! ) I hate to reprogram it. Any suggestions? There is no voice mail, just auto atts, on calling group 770.

Per TouchToneTommy's note, I re-confirmed that 10 is a Fax extension, even though this is not possible.

AuxEquip -> FAX -> Extension -> Inspect shows 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10.

AuxEquip -> FAX -> Extension -> Inspect shows 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 329

ext. 329 is Fax, I can delete it, but I cannot delete 19 ( any of them )

Magix 2.1 V8.0, 800 GS-ID, 408MLX, 008MLX, 012 TRwRing.

Any ideas?
