Hello,

I have an extension with a coverage remote to an outside number. I have a user with an Auto Atendant voicemail that collect digits.. if caller press 1 it transfer the call to the extension that point the coverage path to a remote number... it's working, but.. when caller press one.. it take too long before it reach the remote number.. sometimes about 20 seconds and there is dead air in between so the callers sometimes just hang up before they can reach the outside number. Any ideas how to reduce that amount of time? Thanks in advance!

3 issues I can see here potentially.

1. If the extension has an auto-attendant voicemail, you should be able to decrease the amount of time the AA waits for digits to be pressed this is usually a few seconds default.

2.Is the extension that the press 1 digit is set for a real extension, if so there is the coverage redirection interval timers, these timers are set in rings and are genrally about 3 ring cycles by default.
Be wary though, as this alters the initial coverage time before that of the ring cycles set within the coverpath itself, so is system wide affecting if shortened.

3.The coverage remote number is dependant on the ARS table entry, if this is not tight enough it can slow the call down as it is wating for the max number of digits, this can be proved if you add the coverage remote number in the ARS table in it's entirity.

hope this helps.

nulabeacon, thanks so much for the reply. How would you add the coverage remote number in the ARS table in it's entirily? do you have an example? Thanks again!

If you do not already understand your ARS table the I be careful playing around in them.

Do a list ars ana (and look through that to get a better understanding of how your system is setup.)

One question is do you have more then one location, and do you have more then one ARS table set for the locations. If not then things are a lot simpler.
Do a change ars ana xxx (where xx is the area code of the number you want to add.)

For example, change ars ana 404.
Just add a new line 4041234567, and use the rest of the information from the base 404 line.

If you have more then one location, then you ether need to work in the main ars location, or the one for that locations, depending on what you need done.
