Tempo 77HP/22FP Toner & Probe since forever

Looking to outfit 2 of my field techs with a toner/probe set & Wiremapper. Any of ya'll have a Fluke Microscanner.

Thinking about getting the Microscanner paired with a Fluke Intellitone.

Or should I just go with tried and true stuff like Aines which seems to be the standard for our lec field tech guys.

I use a LANDRover. Has wirewapping, length testing and toner. Bought a Progressive probe to go with it

I have always been very happy with my Microscanner Pro. If you look back through the forum posts you can find quite a few discussions on this topic.

The quality and performance of the Microscanner is tough to beat. I has a true TDR that can be run in individual pairs, port flash and one of the loudest toners I have ever used. Costs a bit more but well worth the price.

The latest version is the MicroScanner2 which has updates for gigabit, PoE, a different screen, intellitone and uses AA batteries. I have not used this model. It would be difficult to improve on the original.

Wires, i have three of the Micro scanner 2's and they are great. Very durable. Even hold up under my tech's, which is a challenge. I use the TDR feature to charge back for footage of cable used on jobs.

Very nice little unit for the price.

The wireless telegraph is not difficult to understand. The ordinary telegraph is like a very long cat. You pull the tail in New York, and it meows in Los Angeles. The wireless is the same, only without the cat.

In my research, it looks like the Intellitone series is junk....

I decided to go with 2 of the Microscanner Kits and also 2 of the Aines toners/probes. Just for the extra remotes alone, paid for the kit.

I tried the Intellitone. It sucks and it's way too expensive.

I wasn't going to join in, but if I ever hear that funky Intellitone melody again I think I'll smash mine.

It never worked as a digital probe.
