Need some advice on Activation of ETE-DTMF mode "Tone Sender". We currently activate by code.

Is activation required by code only? Is always on an option?
Are there options?

Tone sender manual activation is an option. You can activate it by AS parameter to be always active or to activate by code.

In anyone's experience turning the "Tone Sender" always ON what type of ramifications have they seen. We currently equip approximately 1 TMU board per magazine. Does anyone have problems with not enough TMU boards?

I *think* the rule of thumb is one TMU per 80 extensions, but I won't swear to it......with that said, we've had tone sender "always on" (parnum=56,parval=15)since we went to BC6 back in 1990 and have never had a problem. We're currently at BC13 with a mix of TMU's in some lims and TSU/TRU's in other LIMs.

Your mileage may vary.......
