Hi,

MiVB 8, CX II Controller 512

I was reported by one of the customers analog extensions were not working.

They have a CX Controller with CIM Card and ASU II with 24 port ons card.

They fault reported was that no dial tone when going off hook.

At first I thought it could be a faulty ONS card or the ASU or the CIM card.

However, before replacing all those I tested creating an extension on one of the AMB ports.

Same result, no dial tone.

No alarms on the system.

So, I replaced the controller, I used same ibutton, same hard drive and same CIM, same asu II and same ONS card.

All analog extensions now working.

What could be damaged on the controller??

Are the tone generators on the controller itself?

In the old days I think the tone generators were on the Peripheral Nodes of the 2K.

All IP services were working fine, I didn’t test making conferences to involve the E2T.

Any ideas what could be wrong with the controller?

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi;
The tone generator is controlled by the PS. As the old days in the SX2K
