Any Help?????

Connection refused when trying to connect through browser to localhost:8080 then when I go to ./shutdown.sh I get a java.net.ConnectionException: Connection refused, along with a list of : at java. ........ect......
at org.apache.catalina............ect....
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.......

Could this have anything to do with installing ide's like netbeans, etc???

Thanks in adv.

have you tried to connect to localhost:8080 before installing anything else? was that successful?

if the answer is "yes" then you probably have to configure whatever you installed afterwards in the right way. patrick.metz@epost.de

Do you connect to the net via a proxy ? If yes, the error can come from here. If you are using IE, try the following and tell me if you can connect.
- click "Tools/internet options" menuitem
- click "connexions" tab
- click "lan parmeters"
- if you have a proxy, it will be written in proxy server box.
- click "advanced" button.
- add "localhost" to the proxy exceptions. Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)
