hey there,

How would i change tomcat 4 so that it uses port 80 on a windows pc, i checked the docs and it said that u could only change it to ports greater then 1024, as ports less than or equal to 1024 require superuser access to bind to.

i tryed to change it to port 80 just for kicks to see if it would work, but it was a no go. (IIS is disabled, of course!) JoelMac

Should work fine in Windows. The superuse access thing is mainly referring to Unix worlds where ports below 1024 are highly regulated and require root access to bind to. Since you mention IIS then you must be running Windows. What kind of error message are you getting?

I tried it again and it worked fine. No idea what went wrong the first time, just windows doing it's own little thing i guess. Must find the time to install (and learn) Linux.

Thanks for your time! ________________________
