Tomcat 4.1.24 error status http 500

After installing tomcat 4.1.24 when i try to open in the browser using

http://localhost:8080

. it gives error. My webserver IIS is working. It shows as tomcat is started in services.
Help me

Please provide more details, check Tomcat log file for error details.

I searched for catalina.out and i couldn't find it. Thats the logfile i beleive so. If so let me know where to searh. Appreciate your quick response to solve this problem.

The log files should be in TOMCAT_HOME/logs

If you still couldn't find the log file, try start Tomcat in a console, this way you can see the output on the console. i.e. stop Tomcat service, open a commnad console, go TOMCAT_HOME/bin and run 'startup'.

I found out five log files, localhost_admin_log.2003-10-24 , localhost_examples_log.2003-10-24, localhost_log.2003-10-24, stderr , and stdout .

Let me know out of this five, which is the log file you want to view to help me.

I thinks is the 'stdout'. startup Tomcat, try to load the sample page, the error should appear at the end of the files.
