Tomcat 4.1.12 and Garbage Collection options

Can someone please help me with the options (Best) for garbage collection with Tomcat 4.1.12? Do I set the options in the server.xml file, and if so where? Currently the box has 2 gigs of memory on it and the box is devoted entirely to Tomcat running on WIN2000.

Also, any performance recommendations are welcomed.
