Tomcat 3.2.4 - monitoring threads

can anyone tell me how i can monitor the number of
threads tomcat is maintaining? im having problems
with the connection to a tomcat based server. i
modified the pool thread settings but i dont know
how i can check if they are being implemented.
thanks.
