I have:
[DSL modem] --> [WRT54G w/Tomato 1.28] --> [Ooma] + Lan

DSL modem (LAN side) private IP with mask to be two IPs
WRT54G (LAN side) private IP #2 with standard Class C IPs

Objective QOS on Tomato to give Ooma priority based on MAC.

Not working well, anyone have source for research on learning more on QOS for Tomato? I found a few, but they seem very rouge and not following a standard way of thinking... ie when giving incoming % of bandwidth, are each category a piece of the full bandwidth in % that all totaled equal 100%? or are each category independent %s.

Scenario:
Ethernet wired PC watching Net Flix
laptop (WiFi) using VPN
Ooma phone rings... VERY Choppy/unusable service
...
have to stop Net Flix movie to answer phone.
QOS has Ooma set as Highest priority based on MAC
Highest priority set to 99% for category.

thoughts?

Get a real router like Fortigate or Juniper Networks! Then you can have something that works...
