Toggle Keys Dont Make Sound

OK, this is the stupidest issue yet mind boggling.

I have it set for the toggle keys (NUM LOCK, CAPS LOCK etc) to sound when I hit them.

When the PC is docked, it does not work. When it is undocked, it works fine.

I have a D400 and am using a USB Keyboard. When it is docked the sound plays through a set of desktop speakers. When it is undocked the sound plays from the pc speaker, not spdif speakers.

Thanks for the help on this miniscule issue.
