I have many fonts installed in my PC Egnlish and Chinese. When I use InDesign I only need us Times New Roman and one of Chinese fonts TSC JSong S TT. How can I put these two fonts as the first two choices in the Font instead of scrolling down and up in the extremely long font list?

You can try going to your fonts folder and putting a space before the name of the 2 fonts or font folders. You might have to restart your machine. Then see if they are listed first. If not you can also put the number 01 before them.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

I went into the fonts folder. But it won't let me put a space in front of the specific font. (It hights the font.) nor let me type 01. Any clue why?

Not really, we use macs and can do it.

Are you using any font management software? If so, you can temporarily deactivate fonts you do not wish to use (not the same as deleting them) so they no longer appear in your font list.

If you don't have a font manager, then you can relocate the fonts not necessary on your operating system in a folder elsewhere. You will need to reinstall them into the Windows>Fonts folder if you wish to subsequently use them however.

You haven't stated what your OS is, but if a version of Windows, check the Microsoft website for a list of fonts that must be kept in the Windows>Fonts folder in order for the OS to run properly.

Thank you very much. I will give the second trick a try.
