I am looking for the "hidden" ways to better format the table of contents.

Above is the link to the test sight for my church's web page. I put a TOC in the left side, which I want, but I don't want the indented tabs to be have so many spaces, nor do I want the TOC to go beyond 2 levels deep.

Is there a way to control which pages appear on the TOC without having to remove them from the Navigation screen? Or to modify the formatting of the TOC? If not, I'll just remove the TOC from the left edge and add put it on a site-map page.

I am only looking for info on the TOC at this time, but since it is a test site, any other criticisms will be gladly accepted (or is that excepted [ponder]). Realize though, that only the format is there, not all the content.

Thanks,

FrontPage doesn't give you the option of changing the formatting of the table of contents, but ...

If you upgrade to FP 2002, you can use their new addition to the table of contents component. You assign a category to a page, and then you can easily divide the pages into sections (and list only the pages you want to list). This gives you a lot more control over how a site index appears instead of just having a list of everything.

Thanks, that's what I figured.

I just removed the TOC from the left sidebar and added a TOC/SiteMap page.

By the way, I do think that FP2000 allows each page to be assigned a category and then divide the pages up into sections. I may try adding that also, just to see.

Thanks again.
